Nigerians artists Wizkid, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage fail to release albums in June

Pop singers, Wizkid, Wande coal and female Afro pop/ RnB singer, Tiwa Savage, who announced that their respective albums would be released in June failed to keep up with their promise.
The trio have kept music fans waiting with bated breath for their creative work.

Wande Coal, who took a long hiatus after he released his debut album five years ago, has left his fans anticipating his yet to be titled second album.
No word has been heard from Wande Coal’s camp about the reason the album, slated for June 12, was not released, but the Mavin Records and Black diamond pop singer has been active on Star Music Trek since it began. Wande has performed at the Owerri, Enugu, and Festac (Lagos) leg of the music tour.
Early in June, Tiwa savage, the kele kele love crooner, had whet her fans appetite with a listening party for her debut album titled ‘Once Upon A Time.’

On June 13, however, she said there will be a delay in the release of the album.

“@TiwaSavage Hey guys, so sorry bt due 2 uncontrollable circumstances I have 2 push my album release date. New date coming soon bt will still be #JUNE,” Tiwa tweeted.
The album is yet to be released.

While Wizkid released a single, Talk, and posted a picture of the track list of his 11 tracker album, which features label boss, Banky W; prolific producer, Donjazzy; and singer, Seyi shay; on Instagram in June; rumour is rife that the album has been pushed forward to ensure a successful release.

While there has been no official statement from the singers’ representatives, an industry insider who does not want his name mentioned said the albums were not released as earlier announced to avoid a clash in the market.

“if you look at the three artistes- Wande coal, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, they share almost the same market (fan) and you must have it in mind that they want to make money from their album sales and have their own fair share of rave-making-artiste- of- the-moment, so I think it was a smart move that the three didn’t release their album as planned”, he opined.

However, entertainment journalist, Osagie Alonge, feels the delay has to do with different stages involved in producing an album.

“It takes a lot to put an album together – mixing, mastering, et al. I’m however confident that all three artistes will release fantastic albums”, Osagie said.
