Amaka Igwu dies at 51

 
Amaka Igwu one of the best known producers in Nigeria’s movie industry has died.
  the producer passed on late on Monday evening following complications from an asthma attack.
She produced Checkmate, a popular series that was aired back in the early 1990s. She also produced the Fuji House of Commotion.

Since the announcement of her sudden death yesterday, the industry, friends and fans of the deceased have not stopped showering accolades on her.
     
      According to M-Net West Africa Regional Director, Wangi Mba-Ukouwa, “Amaka Igwe was a giant in our world, a loyal supporter, a committed professional and a valued partner.”
It was also revealed that time will be dedicated on “our channels to her memory as a testament to her many achievements.”
    
    Amaka Igwe hailed from Enugu State.She was born on January 2, 1963 and she got married to Charles Igwe in April, 1993.In recognition of her achievements in the movie industry, she was bestowed with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic
