2013 CFDA award winners

Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough with their award for womenswear designer of the year

The 2013 CFDA award winners have been named and now they’re out partying at The Standard (the official Swarovski-sponsored after party) and Westway (the exclusive Givenchy after-party) and wherever else the night may take them.
Proenza Schouler nabbed their third win for womenswear designer of the year (they won in 2007 and 2011) beating out Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs. While designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez seemed shocked to have won it, we kinda saw it coming. “I’m living a dream,” Hernandez said, a bit choked up.
In fact there were no real upsets. Public School was the biggest surprise–Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne seemed shocked and a little speechless upon receiving the Swarovski award for menswear design. (Dao-Yi Chow soon found his words and charmingly boasted about how he’d be allowed to pick out what his son would wear for the next year–that was the deal he made with his wife if he won.)
